What is Pranayama

Pranayama are the breathing practices that comprise a balanced approach to yoga. On face value these practices involve breathing but in actual fact their action is on the energetic body. Pranayama translates as expanding energy. When we practice pranayama, we have a direct effect on the energy body, bringing about a balanced and more harmonized state. Pranayama will leave you feeling relaxed and energised. We practice this each time we do yoga and it is a great preparation for meditation.
