When you think back to a year ago, two years, three… do you remember the vision you had for yourself?

Did the experience you now have of life feature as an aspiration back then? Did you intend for things to be the way they are now?

Whether you did or didn’t, there is likely to have been a pattern of thinking and feeling that led you here. A pattern of saying and doing that brought you to your current circumstances.

If life threw you a few challenges along the way that’s to be expected, but we all have within us the power to shape our thinking around these circumstances with intention.

In Yoga we call this intention San Kalpa and it becomes the direction toward which our practice is aimed.

Whether a simple word such as “Abundance”, “Peace” or “Harmony” or a statement such as “I am becoming…” or “I feel…”, the San Kalpa we choose gives power and direction to our yoga practice.

With repetition, the San Kalpa moves from a simple word or statement to a feeling that charges our being with positive constructive energy.
